Alignment with ICDS

Focus of ICDS

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is a government-run program in India aimed at improving the health and nutritional status of children under the age of six and pregnant and lactating women. The program includes a component of non-formal pre-school education for children between 6 months to 3 years of age.

The non-formal pre-school education component of ICDS aims to provide a stimulating and safe environment for young children to learn and grow. The focus is on developing their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills through age-appropriate activities and play.

The activities in the non-formal pre-school education component of ICDS may include singing, storytelling, playing with toys, and outdoor activities. The program also includes the provision of nutritious meals and health check-ups to ensure that the children's physical and nutritional needs are met.

The non-formal pre-school education component of ICDS is an important initiative aimed at promoting early childhood development and preparing children for formal schooling. It is hoped that this program will help reduce the education gap between children from different socio-economic backgrounds and improve their overall health and well-being.

Alignment with ICDS

The SpacECE India Foundation's focus on holistic development aligned with the goals of the ICDS program for children between 6 months to 3 years of age. The ICDS program aimed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow, and the SpacECE India Foundation contributed to this goal by providing resources and expertise in promoting holistic development.

For example, the SpacECE India Foundation helped develop age-appropriate activities and play-based learning materials that promoted cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. They provided resources and training on storytelling, music, and other activities that fostered emotional and cognitive development, as well as designed and implemented play-based activities that encouraged physical exercise, problem-solving, and social interaction.

The SpacECE India Foundation also supported the ICDS program agenda by raising awareness about the importance of holistic development among parents and caregivers. They organized workshops and training sessions to educate parents and caregivers on the benefits of a holistic approach to development and how they could support their children's learning and development.

SpacECE believe that, working together, they can created a safe and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow, promoting their overall development.
