"Empowering Futures Through Early Childhood Excellence"

This motto encapsulates the essence of SpacECE's mission: to empower children and their families by providing quality early childhood education, fostering school readiness, and supporting the transition from early childhood to early grade learning. Through a focus on inclusive and equitable development, SpacECE aims to contribute to lifelong learning, breaking the cycle of inequity, and ensuring that all children have the opportunity to thrive.

Welcome to the gateway of early childhood empowerment at SpacECE, where the journey begins for children aged 0 to 8 years, the pivotal period of unparalleled growth and development. At SpacECE, we believe that the foundations of all learning are laid during these transformative years, setting the stage for a lifetime of educational achievement. SpacECE acknowledges the importance of engaging parents in playful activities for fostering school readiness and later facilitating early-grade learning.

Research underscores the profound impact of quality early learning, early childhood education, and development programs in reducing dropout rates, minimizing repetition, and enhancing outcomes across all levels of education. In the Indian context, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) spearheads the government's efforts, providing crucial pre-school education through 1.37 million Anganwadi centres.

Recognizing the significance of investing in early childhood development, the Government of India adopted the National Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Policy in 2013, accompanied by a National ECCE Curriculum Framework and Quality Standards. Despite encouraging enrollment figures, disparities persist across states and socioeconomic strata, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions. The unveiling of the National Education Policy (NEP) in 2020 marked a paradigm shift, incorporating ECCE from the age of 3. The policy envisions a universal provision of quality early childhood development, care, and education by 2030, ensuring that all students entering Grade 1 are school-ready. At SpacECE, our focus aligns with the imperatives of the NEP 2020 and the National ECCE Policy, aiming to strengthen systems and enhance the provision of quality ECCE. We are committed to promoting inclusive and equitable development, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4, Target 4.2.

Join us on this transformative journey as we strive to implement the recommendations of the NEP 2020, supporting children's access to quality foundational learning and ensuring a robust early childhood education and school readiness. Together, let's build a future where every child is empowered to thrive in the realm of lifelong learning.

Home-as-a-Learning-SPACE

SpacECE India Foundation has launched a unique program called "Home-as-a-Learning-SPACE" that aims to promote early childhood education through experiential learning. The program is designed to create a conducive learning environment at home, where parents and caregivers can engage children in hands-on activities and encourage them to explore and learn.

The program provides a set of resources and materials that parents can use to create a learning space at home. The resources include activity guides, learning kits, and educational games that are designed to develop basic competencies among young children.

SpacECE India Foundation believes that early childhood education is crucial for the overall development of children, and the "Home-as-a-Learning-SPACE" program can play a vital role in nurturing young minds and preparing them for the future. The program is aimed at children in the age group of 1 to 3 years and is currently being implemented in various parts of India.

Through this program, SpacECE India Foundation aims to make learning more fun, engaging, and accessible to children, especially those who may not have access to quality education. They also hope to inspire parents and caregivers to become more involved in their child's education and create a lifelong love for learning in children.

 Why Home-as-a-Learning-SPACE?

Home-as-a-Learning-SPACE is important for early years development because the early years of a child's life are critical for their growth and development. During these years, children are developing their language, cognitive, emotional, and social skills, and their environment plays a significant role in shaping these skills.

Creating a learning space at home can help to stimulate a child's curiosity, encourage exploration, and promote learning through play. This can be achieved by providing a safe, comfortable, and stimulating environment that is tailored to the child's interests, needs, and abilities.

When children are provided with a space that is conducive to learning, they are more likely to be engaged and motivated to explore, experiment, and learn. This, in turn, can help to build their confidence, resilience, and sense of autonomy, which are essential skills for success in school and in life.

Moreover, a home learning space can provide parents and caregivers with opportunities to engage with their children in meaningful and enjoyable learning activities. This can help to strengthen the bond between parents and children, promote positive parent-child interactions, and support children's social and emotional development.

Creating a home learning space is a simple yet effective way to support children's early years development and set them on a path towards lifelong learning and success.

 Logitudinal Progression

According to SpacECE, having the home serve as a learning environment can benefit children in all stages of their development. During the first three years of life, children are primarily at home, followed by up to six years in preschool and then entering the school at the age of seven. The home can play a crucial role in helping children acquire age-appropriate skills and knowledge that will lay the foundation for their later education. This approach involves a longitudinal sequence where the learning that occurs at each age builds upon the previous milestones. This progression ensures consistency and has a cumulative effect that enhances learning over time.

SpacECE has developed an activity-based curriculum that takes into account the key stages of children's development. Each stage serves as a foundation for the next, and the curriculum includes activities that can be facilitated by parents at home, without requiring specialized knowledge or training in child development and learning. Designing activities for the longitudinal arrangement during learning involves a systematic and developmental approach to support children's learning and development over time.
